The Premise

A record label, built the way we build everything

Most case studies show you the finished screen. This one shows the decisions — the exact conversation that produced a color, the sentence that got rewritten, the pipeline that put the site on Google in days. Every panel below expands. Click into anything.

Sample 01 / Brand Discovery

From chat to hex code

The primary palette wasn't picked from a mood board. It came out of one exchange about a record cover.

Micro-decision loop — verbatim
[ Spark ] "Like the Madonna Ray of Light cover?"
[ First pass ] Ambient dark background blue
[ Refinement ] "The blue of the jacket in the highlights"
[ Locked ] Jacket Blue + Dark Ambient
Jacket Blue
#1E3A8A — PrimaryPulled from the jacket highlights the artist described. Used for hero gradients and the label-disc core. One reference, one hex, no committee.
Dark Ambient
#0F172A — GroundThe room the music sits in. Every artwork tile and audio module lives on this ground so covers made years apart feel like one catalog.
Steel Blue
#6399bb — StructureBorders, rules, and the rotating label disc. Carries the identity at interface scale, where Jacket Blue would disappear.
Steel Light
#82b0cb — VoiceLabels, metadata, and fine type on carbon. The reading color — legible at small sizes without breaking the dark ambient mood.
Sample 02 / Artwork Recontextualized

COVID-era art, new environment

Jayesyn's existing covers weren't replaced — they were re-housed. Static singles artwork became living web modules inside the new dark-blue environment.

"Brew Me Slowly"
Static cover → hero animation
The single artwork becomes a subtle hero background animation with a layered ambient audio preview. The art doesn't sit in a frame — it sets the atmosphere of the page.
"One Man More"
Static cover → audio module
Rebuilt as a responsive audio player module with custom dark-mode typography. Same artwork, new job: it now carries playback, credits, and release metadata.
Sample 03 / Collaborative Copy

Finding the artist's voice

First drafts describe. Final copy sounds like the person. Here's the same artist bio, before and after co-writing with Jayesyn.

Draft 01 — Studio

"Jayesyn creates soulful electronic music with warm vocals, deep basslines, and nice trumpet breaks."

Final — Co-created

"Jayesyn lives somewhere between soulful house and art pop — downtempo, electronic, and deeply human. It starts with that voice: smooth, honeyed, and exceptionally clear. He draws you in close with an intimate, slightly breathy delivery in the verses, then opens up into something powerful, resonant, and passionate when the chorus arrives."

Why the rewrite matters
The draft lists ingredients. The final describes an experience — proximity, dynamics, a voice moving toward you. That's the language listeners use, which means it's also the language answer engines quote. Voice work is AEO work.
Sample 04 / Edge Architecture

Local edit to global delivery

No plugins, no page builder, no server to babysit. Four steps between a code edit and worldwide delivery. Expand each node.

01Local Edits
Static Astro components edited locally. Zero runtime JavaScript shipped unless a module earns it.
02GitHub Repo
Every change version-controlled. One push command; the full site history is the audit trail.
03Cloudflare Edge
Auto-deploys in about two minutes to Cloudflare's global edge network. The site is served from wherever the listener is.
04Indexed in Days
MusicGroup JSON-LD structured data plus a clean static architecture: Google indexed the site within days of launch.

Questions

Asked & answered

What is the Jayesyn case study?
A documented record of how Irishguy Design Studio built a record-label web platform for the artist Jayesyn — from a single brand-discovery conversation to a statically generated Astro site deployed on Cloudflare's edge network with MusicGroup structured data.
How long does it take a new site to get indexed on Google?
With clean structured data, a static architecture, and edge deployment, the Jayesyn site was indexed on Google within days of launch — not the weeks or months typical of heavier platforms.
Can you build a platform like this for my project?
